Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1850, Robert Louis Stevenson craved two things: freedom and the leisure of dive into another world. He wrote essays and travel stories, as well as his legendary adventure stories filled with extraordinary characters, whose names sent shivers down the spines of readers all over the world: Long John Silver, Captain Flint, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The Montblanc Writers Edition Homage to Robert Louis Stevenson is dedicated to this extremely creative storyteller. Many decorative details of this edition are inspired by the novel “Treasure Island”.

The overall shape of the writing instrument, combined with the rings on the cone, recreates the effect of a historic extendable telescope. The black precious resin body is decorated with engraved crosses, including a larger “X” similar to that used to mark the location of treasure on a map. The cap of the Writers Edition is adorned with vertical lines that recall the planks of the schooner “Hispaniola” and a traditional chest. Behind the platinum-finish clip, the lines converge to create a compass rose, while the clip reproduces the shape of a cleat, to which the ship's shrouds are fixed.

The top of the cap is crowned with the Montblanc emblem, decorated with the pirate symbol - a skull and crossbones - elevated in the center. The cap ring is engraved with Stevenson's signature, and the date of publication of his first work, “The Pentland Rising,” in 1866. The years of birth and death of Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) are engraved on the cap.
